"Meetings Around the World" is a just-released global collaboration study conducted by Frost & Sullivan and sponsored by Verizon Business and the Microsoft Corporation. This study includes the first-of-its-kind Collaboration Index, which measures a company's ability to work together based on technologies, such as conferencing and instant messaging, as well as an organization's culture and processes that encourage teamwork. The study also found that collaboration is a key driver of overall performance of companies around the world. Its impact is twice as significant as a company's aggressiveness in pursuing new market opportunities ("Strategic Orientation") and five times as significant as the external market environment ("Market Turbulence").
The Meetings Around the World study surveyed over 900 information technology and line-of-business decision-makers from a cross section of 2,000 small-to-medium, mid-market, and global companies split across the U.S., Europe (France, Germany, and U.K.), and Asia-Pacific (Australia, Hong Kong, and Japan).

Effective June 1, 2006, Verizon Business has added Brazil and Russia Freephone access for its U.S. Conferencing customer base, allowing businesses with international subsidiaries to communicate even more effectively with a wider group of clients, colleagues, and partners on a global basis.

Verizon Conferencing's latest web-based Administrative Tool, available globally, gives administrators the ability to go online to manage company accounts, helping to increase security and ease account maintenance.

Quickly reply to invitations for meetings and other events with our Enhanced Web RSVP. This latest version gives leaders more control over their meetings, enabling them to request qualifying information of participants, provide automatic or customized reminders, and provide branding tailored for each conference. Enhanced Web RSVP, offered globally, is available for all Verizon Conferencing products and services, providing more tools for conference leaders than our earlier version.

Beginning July 11, 2006, the Verizon Business and Microsoft help desks will no longer provide public and technical support, including security updates for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows ME as part of the Microsoft Lifecycle Policy.
Troubleshooting, configuration, and How-to content will still be available via the Microsoft Support Product Solution Center website. Microsoft recommends that customers using these systems upgrade to a newer, more secure operation system. For more information, visit the Microsoft website.
